Taiheiyo Cement Corp (Taiheiyo) appears to have limited engagement with climate change policy. Taiheiyo does not appear to have made a clear statement on its position on many climate change policies, especially in recent years, although evidence from the company's 2011 CSR report suggests that it does not support emissions target legislation. In its 2015 CDP disclosure, the company stated that they were opposed to a cap and trade scheme that would affect one of its plants in Saitama. Taiheiyo is a member of Japan Cement Association and the President of Taiheiyo is a vice chairman. The Japan Cement Association does not appear to support the transition of the energy mix and has helped organize events to promote a sustained role for coal.
